چکیده

The 22 March 2020 Zagreb ML 5.5 earthquake ground shaking resulted in damage to buildings and infrastructure. most affected were older cultural heritage (built before 1963) the old city centre with significant extent epicentral zone (southeastern foothills of Medvednica Mt.). This study presents site response analysis on realistic profiles from epicentre towards accelerometric stations QUHS QARH comparison strong motion data recorded during earthquake. Semi-empirical estimation amplification (i.e., peak acceleration at surface) showed that modelled values are comparable. Moreover, we present 2D model surface (PGAsurf ) variation for superimposed profile two stations. Ground scenario PGAsurf is larger by a factor 2 than bedrock value (approx. 0.35 g 0.20 12 km distant station). contribution better understanding effects significance local extent, something combined high economic consequences. Therefore, it important site-specific simulation seismic microzonation continues installation an array. very retrofitting resilience low, mid- high-rise particular care historical as well further urban planning.

Estimation of Linear Site Amplification by a Ground Motion Prediction Equation Using Results from a Site Survey

One of the ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs), which have recently been developed in the Next Generation Attenuation (NGA) project, is employed in this article to estimate site response in terms of amplification factor of the seismic waves in soft superficial sedimentary layer. This study also presents briefly the existing information dealing with the methods for estimating subsurface s...

Overview of Ground-Motion Issues for Cascadia Megathrust Events: Simulation of Ground-Motions and Earthquake Site Response

Ground motions for earthquakes of M7.5 to 9.0 on the Cascadia subduction interface are simulated based on a stochastic finite-fault model and used to estimate average response spectra for reference firm soil conditions. The simulations are first validated by modeling the wealth of ground-motion data from the 2011 M9.0 Tohoku earthquake of Japan. Adjustments to the calibrated model are then made...

On Earthquake Ground Motion and Structural Response inAlluvial

This paper is concerned with the problem of soil ampliication and structural damage due to local site conditions in sedimentary valleys during earthquakes. It focuses on a small valley in Kirovakan, for which one dimensional (1D) wave propagation analyses have failed to provide adequate answers for the large extent and spatial distribution of damage during the 1988 Armenia Earthquake. A more re...
